Known as the City of Homes, Newnan-Coweta boasts many beautifully restored antebellum and Victorian-era homes in six historic districts. Visit places that classical musician and conductor Charles Wadsworth, comedian Lewis Grizzard and author Erskine Caldwell have all called home. Georgia Trust Ramblers are invited to tour private homes and buildings dating back to the late 1800s.

On Friday, October 3, Ramblers will register at the Senoia United Methodist Church, built circa 1896. Ramblers will see "preservation in progress" as they tour historic Senoia, which is currently being returned to its pre-1900s grandeur. The town has also been the setting for 22 movies, including "Fried Green Tomatoes" and "Driving Miss Daisy." Ramblers will also enjoy an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Riverwood Studios and see movie memorabilia.

Dunaway Gardens is just one of many historic sites Ramblers will visit during the 2008 Fall Ramble.
On Friday night, Ramblers will enjoy cocktails and dinner at The Magnolias Plantation, a one and a half story Federal style house built between 1828 and 1833 with extensive gardens. Owned by George Johnson and Morris Steward, the house will serve as the backdrop for an evening under the stars.
On Saturday, October 4, orientation will take place in the Wadsworth Auditorium, built c. 1930s in the Art Deco style. Ramblers will enjoy breakfast provided by Main Street Newnan. Saturday's lunch will be at the Ruth Cole Blackburn Garden, which features a gazebo and goldfish pond that was created in the 1940s by Mrs. Blackburn next to the family home. Saturday night, Ramblers will enjoy cocktails and dinner at Powers' Plantation Site and tour the original house, Moss Oak, a c.1790 structure. Ramblers will also enjoy carriage rides around the scenic grounds, which include a folk art gallery and historic rural cemetery.

Saturday's Ramble includes the Young House.
On Sunday, Ramblers will tour the beautifully restored Dunaway Gardens, which was once the theatrical training ground for performers, producers and directors during the 1930s and 1940s. Other sites include Vinewood, the c. 1850’s Benjamin Leigh plantation; CORRAL, a therapeutic riding program located in the Wayne P. Sewell c. 1930 barn and the ancestral home of Andrew Sewell (Sewell/Cohen) built c. 1880.
Ramblers will end the morning with a delicious Sunday brunch at Sewell's Pecan Orchard. Afterwards, Ramblers will conclude their trip and head home along a scenic byway.
